The Tempodrom – The quick-change artist amongst the capital’s event venues

The Tempodrom is a popular and multifunctional concert and event venue in the center of Berlin. A multi-functional spatial concept combined with an aesthetically impressive architecture and an ecologically well thought out infrastructure creates the ideal conditions for events from 50 to 3.500 guests. The flexible room elements create a variable space for the most diverse events such as corporate functions like gala-dinners, awards or TV shows or as well rock concerts, musicals, classical events or kids and comedy shows.

With about 180 events and 300.000 guests per year the Tempodrom shaped up well to one of the most booked event venues in Berlin. Since the opening in December 2001 various international top artists like Grace Jones, Tracy Chapman, Nick Cave, Amy Winehouse, Massive Attack, Dave Gahan & Soulsavers, New Order, Woodkid, Pet Shop Boys or Lou Bega were on the stage of the Große Arena. Furthermore, many top-class Corporate Events like the NOAH Conference, the showcase of Samsung within the IFA, the CDU’s congress of digitalization and thrilling fashion and media events like the ELLE Fashion Star, the Michaelsky StyleNight or the Art Directors Club Award took place here.

The Tempodrom’s visionary architecture, designed by Gerkan, Marg and Partner, combines aesthetics and ecology in a ground-breaking way. The tent-like roof construction of the Große Arena is the constructional summit of the building. Through the glazed opening of the roof daylight enters the venue at the zenith. The premises are complemented with the accessible and 2.500 m² covering terrace on the roof of the Tempodrom. It opens from spring to autumn and offers various possibilities for combined indoor-/ outdoor events with pleasant atmosphere.

Moreover, the building incorporates the Liquidrom – a bathing and wellness centre – and the catering company Sarah Wiener which is operating the production together with a restaurant here.
